Referencing the post Analyzing and Reverse Engineering a Game Archive ( viewtopic.php?f=29&t=17891), I assume that the file starts with file magic LRTC. So, I decided to use FlexHex on what I assume is the game's archive file, GLBLDATA.PSX, to see how the game's files are structured, and all I get is garbled text with what appears to be pointers to the actual game models, as opposed to a clean, human-readable file structure. I also know that the vertex data (I am only concerned with vertex data for right now) for the models MUST be stored in the game's files somewhere, somehow. I am trying to extract 3D data from a PlayStation game, NASCAR Rumble, so far to no avail.Īny 3D ripping software, such as 3D Ripper DX or NinjaRipper would be useless as the PlayStation doesn't support Z-buffer, so all captures would be just flat graphics (although they are useful for extracting texture data, though they would be transparent DDS files).
